CSCI website wins top award

25 July 2006
The CSCI webteam scooped the accessibility award at last night's
prestigious New Statesman new media awards.
David Miliband MP, Secretary of State for
the Environment, Farming and Rural Affairs presented the team
with the award which recognised how people who use services
had actively shaped the site.
The new CSCI site launched in April this year and underwent
extensive user testing with people who use services, their
families, friends and carers.
The site has the following accessibility and usability
features:
- Brand new information on choosing and finding care
- Easy-to-read pages with sound
- Information in eight different languages
- Plain English Internet Crystal Mark
- RNIB See It Right Accreditation
- AA compliance- this means it's accessible to disabled people
who use programs and equipment to use websites
