These are some things you need to think about before you choose direct payments

1. You will be in charge of the contract between you and any care workers you hire.

• A contract is a legal document. It describes the terms and conditions of how you and your care workers will work together. This includes things like working hours and salary

• Care workers are staff from the social care service that will care for you

• Make sure you read all contracts very carefully.
  Check for anything that you need to pay for that is not clear straight away
